My family has been farming the same land since 1768. We own 265 acres in West Simsbury CT. Tulmeadow Farm, has always been diversified, but principally dairy, until we transitioned to direct marketing, starting in the 1990’s. We raise greenhouse and field vegetables, and hay. We started making ice cream in 1994, and sold the milking herd in 2003. We have a small beef herd, and farm store. We scoop ice cream seasonally and sell our vegetables, local fruit and other products and our ice cream from the farm store. We wholesale ice cream to a few local farms, stores and restaurants.
