Our journey to our homestead started with the home owners association at our last place in the suburbs saying we had to get rid of our chickens. Unfortunately, I didn't get to keep them, but a year and a half later, and we moved to one acre and freedom.

Now I'm starting my own business selling lettuce and microgreens. I'm tired of paying high prices in the store for something that goes slimy within 4 days. And I want to provide the freshest possible produce with methods I know won't make people sick, and that will lead to better health.

Chickens are still in the plans, and our garden last year became mostly elk food, but the fish and wildlife department say they have fencing for me, along with a power pounder to borrow for the t posts.

Looking forward to this part of my journey of life, and grateful for this program to help.
